What to ask Farmers before you enroll
- "Do I qualify — at my age, on this policy?" Farmers publishes a condition of over 55, so this is the question that decides everything else.
- "How much, and on which coverages?" Several insurers apply the discount to liability and collision only, not the whole premium — which roughly halves what a headline percentage is worth.
- "Does a course taken for ticket dismissal count?" Some insurers require it to be voluntary and do not say so publicly.
- "How long does it last, and what do you need from me?" Three years is typical. Get the submission method in writing so the certificate is not sitting in an inbox nobody reads.

The standard six-hour driving safety course is regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, and a provider must hold a TDLR license number to issue a valid certificate.
