How many points does the course take off?
Three, once every three years, under IDAPA 39.02.71. The conviction itself stays on your record.
Will this course get my ticket dropped or my fine reduced?
No. Idaho has no traffic-school program that voids a citation. You pay the citation, the conviction records, and then the course removes three points. If you want to contest the ticket, that is a conversation with the court.
Do I have to pay the ticket before the points come off?
Yes. ITD applies the reduction only after any outstanding citation is paid.
How long does the course take?
Six hours, measured by module timers, at your own pace. There is no state deadline. Most people finish across two or three sittings.
Are there quizzes?
No. Twelve modules, then one 25-question final exam.
What is the final exam like?
Twenty-five questions, twenty correct to pass. Unlimited retakes with no waiting period, and after every attempt you see which questions you got right and wrong.
How do I get my certificate to ITD?
Email it to ddc@itd.idaho.gov or mail it to ITD DMV, PO Box 7129, Boise, ID 83707-1129. We attach the instructions to your certificate email. Idaho has no provider reporting system, so this step is yours.
I am 55 or older. Will my insurance go down?
It might. Some Idaho insurers reduce premiums for drivers 55 and older who complete a defensive driving course, but your insurer decides whether this course qualifies and by how much. Ask them before you enroll if that is your reason.
Is it really $24.99?
Yes. The certificate, unlimited retakes and support are inside that number. There is no processing fee and no upgraded version of the course.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, in full, at any time before you complete the course. After you pass the exam and the certificate is issued, no refund is available.
Can I do this on my phone?
Yes. The course, the timers and the exam work on a phone, and your progress saves the moment you leave.
Is this an ITD course?
No. ITD approves courses offered by private providers. We are a private company; our approval status is shown at the top of every page.
