What to Expect

Everything you need to know about the Missouri process.

Missouri’s Driver Improvement Program keeps a ticket’s points off your record, but only when a court orders it (RSMo 302.302.5):

Ask the court first

The points are waived only when the court handling your ticket authorizes the program. Ask before you enroll, and before you pay: paying the ticket is a guilty plea.

Which tickets qualify

Moving violations such as speeding, general moving violations and careless and imprudent driving. Not violations in a commercial vehicle, not CDL holders, and not out-of-state licenses or out-of-state tickets.

Finish within 60 days

Complete the program within 60 days of your guilty plea or conviction. You can use it once every 36 months.

Get MO Form 4444 signed

When you pass, you get MO Form 4444. Take it to the clerk of the court that ordered the program to sign. It goes to the Department of Revenue within 15 days of completion; ask the clerk whether they send it or hand it back to you to mail.

What it does and doesn’t do

The points for that ticket aren’t assessed. The conviction still records, and the program doesn’t remove points already on your record.

Every court handles requests a little differently, so follow your court’s instructions first.
About us

Why we built Road Ready Safety

Our goal is simple: fair, transparent, state-approved courses for Missourians, plus plain-English guides so nobody is left confused, frustrated or upset about what their state requires.

A lot of drivers have had bad experiences with surprise fees, confusing options and no one to help. Our refund policy is compliant and clear, because we want to earn back the trust those experiences cost.

We hope you leave with a great course and a great experience, and that you trust us enough to tell your friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Missouri DIP.

Do I need the court's permission to use DIP?

Yes. The points are waived only when the court handling your ticket authorizes you to complete a Driver Improvement Program. Ask before you enroll. The course is still worth taking without authorization, but it will not change your record.

How long do I have?

Sixty days from your guilty plea or conviction, set by Missouri. The course is eight hours; start the week you are authorized.

How often can I use DIP to avoid points?

Once in any thirty-six-month period.

Does DIP remove points that are already on my record?

No. It stops the points from the current violation being assessed. Existing points come off on their own: a third after one year with no new conviction, half after two years, all after three.

Does the ticket go away?

No. The conviction records; the points do not. Your insurer can still see the conviction.

How long does the course take?

Eight hours, self-paced. No quizzes. Most people finish across three or four sittings.

What is the final quiz like?

Twenty-five questions, twenty correct to pass. Unlimited retakes with different questions and no waiting period.

How does the Department of Revenue find out I finished?

Through the completion form, MO Form 4444. Take it to the clerk of the court that ordered the program to sign. By court rule the clerk sends it to the DOR within 15 days of completion; the DOR also says "you or the program may mail" it to the Driver License Bureau, PO Box 200, Jefferson City, MO 65105-0200. Ask the clerk which they do. The form and your certificate are ready to download the moment you pass.

Is it really $14.99?

Yes. The certificate, the DOR form, unlimited retakes and support are inside that number. There is no processing fee and no upgraded version of the course. Compare all Missouri-approved driver improvement programs by what you pay at checkout.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, in full, at any time before you complete the course. After you pass the quiz and the certificate is issued, no refund is available.

Can I do this on my phone?

Yes. The course and exam work on a phone, and your progress saves the moment you leave.
