DSC Court Fees

How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed Plea Reply Form requesting DSC
- •Copy of valid Texas driver's license
- •Copy of valid insurance (proof of financial responsibility)
- •Court costs payment ($144 standard / $169 school zone)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •TEA/TDLR-approved DSC certificate of completion
- •certified copy of driving record (Type 3A from Texas DPS, $10 fee)
- •signed and notarized DSC affidavit (required for those who requested by mail)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the court (appearance) date written on the citation
- •Completion window: 90 days from the date DSC is granted to submit certificate, certified driving record, and notarized affidavit.
- •Do NOT complete the course until the court has granted permission.
- •No extensions on the 90-day window — failure to comply makes the fine immediately payable and requires appearance at a Show Cause Hearing.
- •Not eligible if cited for 25+ mph over the limit, if you hold a CDL, if you completed a DSC within the prior 12 months, or for construction-zone violations with workers present.
- •Court convenes Tuesday mornings at 10:00am; juvenile court is the second Tuesday of each month at 9:00am.
