How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of a valid Texas driver's license (with request)
- •Proof of financial responsibility/insurance (with request)
- •Driving Safety Course completion certification (submitted after course)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •certified Type 3A driving record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: No later than the 11th calendar day after the citation is issued (email, regular mail, in person, or Certified Mail)
- •Completion window: Case postponed 90 days to complete the course and submit the Driving Safety Course Certification.
- •Crowley's request deadline is the 11th calendar day after the citation is issued — stricter than the statewide 'on or before your appearance date' standard, so do not wait.
- •Defendants under 25 requesting Deferred Disposition for a moving violation must complete a Defensive Driving Course as a condition of probation.
- •If the course is not completed in time or the certificate is not submitted, you must appear at the Show Cause Hearing listed in the mailed Show Cause Order.
