DSC Court Fees
This court does not publish its DSC fee schedule online. Call (936) 856-4611 Ext. 111 to confirm the exact amount before submitting payment.
Standard Texas DSC fee is typically $144 for moving violations and $169 for school zone violations, but varies by court.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Written request for the driving safety course
- •Valid Texas driver's license
- •Proof of financial responsibility (auto liability insurance listing you as a covered driver)
- •Plea of guilty or nolo contendere in writing
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Signed affidavit stating you are not currently taking a DSC and have not taken one not shown on your driving record
- •court copy of the DSC certificate of completion AND certified copy of your TX DPS driving record showing no DSC in the preceding 12 months
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before your initial appearance date (or at the time of your court appearance), with court costs and fees paid at the time of the request
- •Completion window: 90 days — case is postponed for 90 days to complete the course and obtain the certified driving record.
- •Eligibility: offense must involve operating a motor vehicle under Transportation Code Subtitle C (Chapters 541–600) or Sec. 472.022 (disobeying warning signs/barricades).
- •Not eligible if you hold a commercial driver's license or completed a DSC/motorcycle operator course within the preceding 12 months.
- •Course must be TEA/TDLR-approved.
- •Failure to submit the completion certificate and driving record within the 90-day window results in a show cause hearing.
