DSC Court Fees

How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Written request/plea of guilty or nolo contendere with required plea and affidavit form
- •Written statement that you have not taken a driving safety course in the past 12 months
- •Valid Texas driver's license (non-commercial)
- •Proof of financial responsibility (liability insurance)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certificate of completion from a TEA/TDLR-approved driving safety course
- •Certified copy of driving record from the Texas Department of Public Safety
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date shown on the citation (request must be in writing)
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete the course and present the certificate of completion and certified DPS driving record to the court.
- •Ineligible offenses: speeding 25+ mph over the limit, speeding 95 mph or over, passing a school bus, leaving the scene of an accident, fail to stop and render aid, or any offense committed in a construction zone with workers present
- •CDL holders are not eligible
- •All juveniles must appear before the Judge with a parent or guardian to request a DSC
