DSC Court Fees
⚠ Court costs are paid after the court grants DSC permission: standard violations $144.00, school zone violations $169.00
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed Driving Safety Course Request form
- •Copy of valid Texas driver's license (CDL holders are ineligible)
- •Copy of valid vehicle liability insurance card
- •Executed affidavit confirming eligibility and entering a plea of guilty or nolo contendere
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Type 3A certified official driver's record from Texas DPS ($12.00 online)
- •After approval: original court copy of TDLR-certified DSC completion certificate, signed, listing City of Kerrville Municipal Court
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date shown on the citation
- •Completion window: Course must be completed AND all required documents submitted on or before the 90th day following the date of the Court's Driving Safety Course Order.

- •Ineligible if: holding a CDL, no valid license or insurance, completed a DSC for dismissal within the 12 months preceding the citation date, speeding 25+ mph over the limit, speeding 95 mph or more, or fleeing police
- •Juveniles must appear in open court with a parent/guardian and cannot request DSC before appearing
- •Court approval of the DSC request is sent by mail; court costs are paid after approval
