DSC Court Fees

How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Uniform Certificate of Course Completion (DSC)
- •Valid Texas driver's license or permit (or proof of active-duty military member/spouse/dependent status); no CDL holders
- •Proof of financial responsibility (auto liability insurance)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certified copy of driving record as maintained by Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date on the citation — form must be completed, notarized, and mailed or hand-delivered with payment by the appearance date or the request is denied
- •Completion window: 90 days from the request — course completion certificate and certified DPS driving record must be submitted by the 90th day.
- •Verbatim from court: 'Do not start a driving safety course online until you have requested and received approval from the municipal court' — certificates dated before court approval will not be accepted
- •After approval, the court mails a formal DSC packet to the address on the request form
- •Mailed DSC Request Form must be NOTARIZED
- •Eligibility: not more than 24 mph over the posted limit, not at/above 95 mph, no serious traffic offense, no construction-zone offense, no DSC dismissal in the 12 months before the offense date
