How to Request DSC Approval

To Request Approval — Submit These

After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • DSC Certificate of Completion (court copy, signed) from a TDLR-approved provider
  • Certified Type 3A Texas Driving Record from DPS

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • By appearance date shown on citation — must request permission BEFORE completing the course
  • You have 90 days from court approval (standard Texas; confirm exact deadline with court at time of approval) to complete the course and submit all documents.
  • Per the court's official application, requests are accepted exactly two ways: by certified mail (return receipt requested) postmarked on or before the court date on your ticket, or in person at the court's transaction windows. 'DO NOT TAKE THE COURSE UNTIL YOU ARE AUTHORIZED TO DO SO BY THE COURT.'
  • Ineligible offenses (standard TX): speeding 25+ mph over limit, no insurance/failure to maintain financial responsibility, leaving the scene of a collision, passing a school bus, offense in a construction zone.
