How to Request DSC Approval

- •Type 3A Driving Record (city notes a form is available to request your driver record, which must be supplied when requesting the DSC)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be made on or before the appearance date shown on the citation
- •Eligibility: not a CDL holder (currently or at time of offense), not currently taking a DSC for another violation, no DSC taken in the past 12 months, and offense not excluded (serious violations, construction/work zone, accident-related, passing a school bus, or speeding 25+ mph over the limit or 95 mph+)
- •Defendants under 16 must appear in person with a parent or guardian on the assigned court date to request DSC
- •Motorcycle operators may be required to take a specialized motorcycle course; child safety seat violations require a 4-hour specialized course
- •DSC fees cannot be paid through the online citation payment portal — contact the court directly
