DSC Court Fees
⚠ Payment is due at the time the DSC request is made. A certified DPS driving record costs an additional $10–$12. Online card payments carry a 3.95% convenience fee. Payment plans available; a state time-payment fee applies past 30 days.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Class C Texas driver's license or permit (military: military ID and valid DL) — presented with the request
- •Proof of financial responsibility (automobile liability insurance) — presented with the request
- •Signed affidavit on the request form stating you are not currently taking, and have not recently completed, a DSC not yet on your record
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Within 90 days: certified Type 3A copy of your driver record from DPS
- •Within 90 days: uniform certificate of completion from a TDLR-approved course (signed court copy)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be made by the appear-by date on the ticket (or an Application for Extension must have been completed)
- •Completion window: 90 days from the date of court approval to submit the certificate of completion and certified Type 3A driving record.
- •The seed website cityofpilotpoint.org now redirects to pilotpointtx.gov.
- •The request form requires a plea of Guilty or Nolo Contendere and waiver of jury trial; the charge is dismissed upon timely completion.
- •The form also covers motorcycle operator training course requests.
- •If proof of completion and the driving record are not submitted within 90 days, the court sets a show-cause hearing; failure to appear results in the fine and possible arrest warrant.
