DSC Court Fees
⚠ Do NOT pay until the court instructs you to — payments received before approval are rejected.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Completed DSC Request Application
- •Copy of current valid Texas Driver's License
- •Proof of valid vehicle liability insurance (in your name or listing the vehicle on the citation)
- •Court fee ($144 standard / $169 school zone) — paid only after court approval
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •DSC Certificate of Completion (signed)
- •Certified Type 3A Driving Record from Texas DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Submit your DSC request NO LATER than your citation due/appearance date — do not take the course first.
- •You have 90 days from court approval to complete the course and submit all documents.
- •Juveniles under 17 cannot request DSC online — they must appear in person with a parent.
- •DSC is not available for offenses in a work zone with workers present, speeding 25+ mph over the limit, or failing to leave ID at a crash scene.
- •If you have multiple violations on one citation, DSC applies to only one of them.
- •If your deadline has passed, request a Show Cause Hearing by mail, drop box, or in person.
