How to Request DSC Approval

In-personBulverde Municipal Court, 30360 Cougar Bend, Bulverde, TX 78163 — Mon–Fri 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, BEFORE your assigned court date. Bring valid Texas driver's license (or out-of-state DL plus current military ID), a paper copy of proof of insurance, and the fee. The court generates all required signature forms on the spot.
MailMail to Bulverde Municipal Court, 30360 Cougar Bend, Bulverde, TX 78163: a written statement requesting the DSC, a written plea of Guilty or No Contest, payment (cashier's check or money order only), a copy of your valid driver's license, and a copy of your insurance card. The court mails back an affidavit to sign and return plus course-selection instructions.
EmailEmail a notarized Application for Defensive Driving (form on court website), a copy of your valid driver's license, and a copy of your insurance card to court@bulverdetx.gov. After Completing the Course — Submit These

  • •signed Court Copy of the Uniform Certificate of Course Completion AND certified Type 3A copy of your driving record from Texas DPS

Important Deadlines & Local Rules

  • •Request deadline: On or before your initial appearance date (the court date/time stated on your ticket)
  • •Completion window: 90 days to complete the course and return both the signed Court Copy of the Uniform Certificate of Course Completion and the certified Type 3A driving record on or before the 90th day.
  • •Do NOT take a driving safety course or pay the citation before receiving approval and instructions from the court.
  • •The course cannot be taken until payment is received by the court.
  • •Not eligible if: speeding 25+ mph over the limit, CDL holder, violation in a construction zone with workers present, passing a school bus, accidents, non-moving violations, or a DSC used to dismiss a ticket in any Texas court within the prior 12 months.
  • •Email requests require a notarized application AND payment within 3 days of approval — a notably strict mechanic.
