DSC Court Fees
⚠ Fee is $144, or $169 if the offense occurred in a school zone (per official Anna DSC page)
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Proof of a valid Texas Driver's License (at time of request)
- •Proof of current liability insurance listing the defendant as an eligible driver (at time of request)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •Certificate of completion from a TDLR-approved driving safety course
- •Certified copy of Texas driving record (Type 3A; $12 instant online via Texas DPS, $10 by mail)
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Must notify the Court on or before the initial appearance date listed on the citation

- •Must enter a plea of guilty or no contest to request DSC.
- •Verbatim rule: 'Do not complete a Driving Safety Course until the Court permits you to do so.'
- •Ineligible if you took a DSC within 12 months before the offense date or are currently taking one for another citation.
- •Ineligible offenses include: speeding 25+ mph over the limit, passing a school bus, construction-zone violations with workers present, commercial motor vehicle violations, leaving the scene of an accident.
