DSC Court Fees
⚠ Fee is non-refundable and must be paid when the DSC request is made.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Valid Texas Driver's License
- •Proof of liability insurance listing you as a driver (coverage effective before the citation date)
- •Plea of Guilty or Nolo Contendere at time of request
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •certificate of completion from a TDLR/TEA-approved course
- •certified Type 3A driving record from Texas.gov/DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: Request must be received on or before your scheduled court date (in person, by email, or by mail)
- •Completion window: 90 days from the date of request to complete the course and submit documents.
- •Seed website ci.windcrest.tx.us is outdated; the city now uses windcrest-tx.gov.
- •CDL holders are NOT eligible for the driving safety course.
- •Not eligible if you completed a DSC within the past 12 months. Only available for speeding less than 25 mph over the limit, other moving violations, or seat belt violations.
- •Court approval is required BEFORE taking the course; you may enroll while waiting for your driving record (DPS can take 6–8 weeks).
