DSC Court Fees
⚠ Fees listed on the court's official DSC page; school-zone violations add $25. An older cached version showed $107.10/$132.10 — current page says $144/$169; confirm with court before paying.
How to Request DSC Approval
To Request Approval — Submit These
- •Copy of proof of financial responsibility (insurance)
- •Copy of valid driver's license or permit
- •Written plea of guilty or no contest
- •Written statement requesting the driving safety course
- •Payment of court costs plus administrative fee ($144 standard / $169 school zone)
After Completing the Course — Submit These
- •completion certificate
- •certified copy of driving record from DPS
Important Deadlines & Local Rules
- •Request deadline: On or before the appearance date listed on the citation; any request after the appearance date must be approved by the judge
- •Completion window: 90 days to complete the course AND obtain a certified copy of your driving record; both must be returned to the court on or before 90 days for dismissal.

- •Verbatim eligibility rule: 'CDL holders will not qualify for this option, even before the judge.'
- •Not eligible if speed exceeded posted limit by more than 25 mph.
- •Must hold a valid Texas driver's license, or be active duty military (including spouses/dependents).
